Roseanne Catherine Hicks

Roseanne Catherine Hicks, 90, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015. Born in Chicago, Ill. on March 2, 1924, she was the daughter of John H. and Catherine Walch Cavanaugh. She had been a resident of Boerne since 1977, a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, and was very active in NARFE, Chapter 778. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy (Wave), she had served during WWII. Catherine met and married James Hicks while they both were serving in the Navy. To her many friends, she was known as the “life of the party.” She was an artist and a talented seamstress participating in many arts and crafts shows over the years. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her brothers, John and Jim Cavanaugh. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, James Hicks; daughters, Devery Ann Regmund of Boerne, Cathy Wolfington and her husband, Ron of La Grange, and Linda Gialouris of Corpus Christi; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne. Graveside Services with Military Honors followed the mass at the Tarpley Cemetery at 3 p.m.
