Estella Anna

Estella Anna (Von Minden) Becker, 86, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at Care Inn of La Grange. Estella was born Oct. 7, 1928 in La Grange, the daughter of the late Albert and Katherine (Wiemken) Von Minden. On Nov. 16, 1957, Estella married Clifton August William Becker. She spend most of her life working as news editor or advertising director for the La Grange Journal and the Herald Coaster. Her passions were a love of history and journalism. Survivors include her husband Clifton Becker of La Grange, daughter and son-inlaw Kay and Randy Pagel of La Grange, daughter-in-law Rhonda Becker and grandson Jeremy Becker of Rosenberg, grandson and wife Jonathan and Alec Lawrence of Richmond, and granddaugther and husband Sarah and Chris Butler of Wisconsin. She is also survived by a brother and wife, Weldon and Carol Von Minden of La Grange. She is preceded in death by her son Ronald Becker, her parents, and brothers Wilburn, Charles, and Leslie Von Minden of La Grange. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
