Blinn Rider Approved in House Budget, College Asks Raney for More Time
By ANDY BEHLEN
The Texas House of Representatives passed House Bill 1, the State Budget Bill, on Monday, March 31. That bill included a version of Rep. John Raney’s (R-Brayn) House Bill 1903 as a rider that would tie the funding of Blinn College’s campuses to the number of students on each campus. Under Raney’s legislation, the Blinn campus in Bryan would receive largest amount of funding. Fayette County’s newly seated State Rep. Leighton Schubert opposes that measure.
