Glen Roy Rohde

Glen Roy Rohde, 72, of Porter Springs died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Palestine Regional Hospital. He was born Jan. 18, 1942 in La Grange. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army for which he was very proud. He worked more than 20 years at Johnson Supply, an air condition supply company, until he retired. He was a member of the Porter Springs Church where
he was a Deacon and served on the Board of Directors for the Porter Springs Cemetery since 2001. Survivors include his children; Tim Whaley of Houston, Gene “Baker” Whaley, Lisa Chavez and husband, Jesus Chavez of Bullard; six grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 38 step great-grandchildren; 2 step greatgreat grandchildren; sister-in-law, June Kofron and husband, Charlie of Houston; and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by wife, Cherry Belle (Miller) Rohde; parents, Bennie Rohde and Johnnie Mae (Ricklefsen) Rohde; brothers-in-law, Johnny and Clifford Miller; sisters-in-law, Joyce and Mary Emma Miller. Funeral services for Mr. Glen Roy Rohde were held Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Carl Standley officiating. Military graveside services followed in the Porter Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kan. 66675 or Michelle Lynn Holsey Foundation P.O. Box 652, Crockett, Texas 75835. Callaway-Allee Funeral Home in Crockett was in charge of arrangements.
