Mary Frances

Mary Frances (Spencer) Piland, 95, of Austin, died Friday, April 17, 2015. Mary Frances was born in Kaufman, Texas on Feb. 16, 1920, the daughter of Wood and Mattie (Lane) Spencer. She married Dudley Piland, Sr. in Travis County. Mary Frances enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and church family. She is survived by two sons: Dudley C. Piland, Jr. and wife, Cynthia, of La Grange; and Donald S. Piland, M.D. and wife, April, of Ellisinore, Mo.; sister-in-law, Doris Farris of San Angelo; five grandchildren: Katy Adams and husband, Brian, of La Grange; Jen Kindsvatter and husband, Matt, of La Grange; Spencer Piland and wife, Jessica, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Rachel Piland of Malden, Mo.; Rebecca Piland of Ellsinore, Mo.; great grandchildren: Madi Adams and Kindsvatter twins on the way; and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dudley Piland, Sr.; sister, LaFawn Martin and husband, Buck; and brother, Woody T. Spencer. Visitation was held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, in La Grange. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside Services were held at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Drive in Austin at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2015. Pastor Sid Roden officiated.
