Daniel Svrcek

Daniel Svrcek, 82, of Rockdale, died on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at his home. Daniel was born in La Grange on March 27, 1933 to Ignatz and Hedwig (Baca) Svrcek. He married Elsie Mary Kadlecek on Feb. 12, 1955 in La Grange. After graduating from LaGrange High School, Daniel joined the Coast Guard where he served from October 1951 thru October 1959. After being discharged, Daniel attended Blinn College where he studied agriculture. Putting Daniel’s agriculture knowledge to use, he and Elsie row crop farmed and raised cattle to support their growing family. Funeral Services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockdale on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 10 a.m. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
