Lucille B. (Bertrand) Rideout

Lucille B. (Bertrand) Rideout, 103, of La Grange, died Monday, June 1, 2015. Lucille was born in Bourbonnais, Ill. on April 20, 1912, the daughter of Gordan and Mary (Audette) Bertrand. She married Jay Rideout in San Francisco, Calif. on Dec. 20, 1949. Lucille worked as a secretary. She also loved to farm. She was a wonderful homemaker and a very accomplished seamstress. She always made beautiful clothing. Lucille was one of the oldest members of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Annunciation No. 1962; a Lifetime Member Award recipient of St. Mark’s Hospital Auxiliary; also a La Grange Garden Club and Texas Women’s League member. She is survived by two nephews: Edward DeMarah and wife, Amy, of Illinois and Robert DeMarah of Washington; friends, Melvin and Carol Austin and Tim and Susan Pylant all of La Grange. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jay; two brothers: Leo and Philbert Bertrand; sister, Muriel DeMarah; and nephew, Arthur DeMarah. Visitation was held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral services followed beginning at 2 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home at 208 W. Pearl St. in La Grange. A service will be held at a later date at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Annunciation No. 1962, Scholarship Fund, P.O.
