Remember When?

The historic Winedale Stagecoach Inn in northeast Fayette County was given to The University of Texas for the benefit of the state by Miss Ima Hogg of Houston. The gift included more than 130 acres of land and several buildings, as well as an endowment for the maintenance of the property. After acquiring the old inn in 1963, Miss Hogg had authentically restored the two-story, eight-room building that had been a stagecoach stop on the old road from San Felipe to Bastrop from 1849 until after the Civil War.
