Francisco Medina

Francisco Medina, 86, of Flatonia, died May 16, 2015He was born Sept. 18, 1928 in Ballinger to the late Josepas Medina and Carmen Gonzales Medina. Frank worked and retired from Smith Farms after 35 years of service. Frank was an Army veteran in the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Silver Star. He also served as a sheriff for the city of Flatonia during 1971-1972 and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Amy Medina; four sons, Frank Medina, Jesse Medina and wife Aurora, Richard Medina, Paul Medina; one daughter, Molly Rojas and husband Ray; three step sons, Armando Gonzales, Ernesto Gonzales and wife Norma and Narciso Gonzales and wife Elizabeth; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Maria De Jesus Medina and one sister-in-law, Delia Medina. Frank is preceded in death by John Medina, Mary (Cuca) Medina, Bernie Medina, Josie Medina, Carmen Medina, Maggie Medina, David Medina, Pete Medina, and Tony Medina. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia with Father Eddie Winkler officiating.
