Vadie Bernice (Meiners) Oeser

Vadie Bernice (Meiners) Oeser, 89, of Nechanitz, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Vadie was born in Walhalla on April 29, 1926 the daughter of Gustav Reinhard and Lillie Marie (Schellberg) Meiners. Vadie was a homemaker and business owner for over 38 years. She owned Cole Creek Tavern in Houston and Vadie’s Longhorn in Giddings. She retired in 2011 to spend more time with family. She is survived by daughter, Lois Henson and husband, Jon, of Dublin, Texas; son, Ronald Oeser of La Grange; son, Roger Oeser and wife, Kathryn, of Giddings; daughter, Bettie Lyerly and husband, Bryan, of Spring; and son, Curtis Oeser and wife, Aleata, of Leander; grandchildren: Michael Oeser, Ian and Aaron Oeser, Bryanne- Michelle Lyerly, Jonathan and Toby Henson, and Shanann and Shelby Oeser; and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Archie Oeser; son, Gary Dean Oeser; two brothers: Harvey and Delvin G. Meiners; and sister-in-law, Renate Meiners. Visitation was held on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A prayer service followed at 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held at Waldeck Lutheran Church, 6915 Waldeck Church Lane in Ledbetter, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Burial followed at Waldeck Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Waldeck Lutheran Church, 6915 Waldeck Church Lane, Ledbetter, Texas 78946.
