E William Pete Glaiser

E William Pete Glaiser, 94, of La Grange, died on Thursday, July 9, 2015. Pete was born in Eagle Lake, Texas on October 13, 1920, the son of William and Mary (Polocheck) Glaiser. On October 11, 1941, he married Lila Hattie Schultz at St. Roch’s Parish in Mentz, Texas.
Pete joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. After the military, he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier for 30 years. He retired in 1980 to ranch and raise cattle. He is survived by three sons: William “Bill” Glaiser and wife, Kathy, of La Grange, Robert “Bob” Glaiser of Katy, and Dan Glaiser and wife, Sandy, of La Grange; four grandchildren: Ronald Glaiser and wife, Jo Lynn, Nathan Glaiser, Alex Glaiser, and Greg Rosier and wife, April; two great grandchildren: Lila Ellen Glaiser and Reagan Rosier; and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Lila; brother, Chester Glaiser; sister, Ruth Sims; and grandson, Nicholas Glaiser. Visitation was held on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange, Texas. Family received friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services were held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 800 N. Franklin, La Grange, Texas, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015. Burial followed at La Grange City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 800 N. Franklin, La Grange, TX 78945 or St. Mark’s Medical Center, One St. Mark’s Place, La Grange, TX 78945. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, 208 W.
