Plato August Splawn, Sr., 78, of West Point, died Monday, July 13, 2015. Plato was born in Plum on Nov. 17, 1936, the son of Plato D. and Alma (Hajek) Splawn.
He married Jane Garcia on Nov. 28, 1959. Plato loved hunting, driving his bulldozer and anything outdoors. He was a John Wayne fan. He loved spending time
with family and his faithful companion, Beaver. He is survived by four daughters: Wanda Montez and husband, Jesse, of West Point,
Connie Moeller and husband, Darryl, of Schulenburg, Tracy Uballe and husband, Anthony, of New Braunsfels, and Linda Guerra and husband, Richard, of
Seguin; two sons: Plato Splawn, Jr. of West Point and David Corrales of New Braunfels; sixteen grandchildren: Katherine Corrales;
Adrianna Uballe; Mark Uballe; Matthew Guerra; Isabella Guerra; Paul Splawn, Jr. and wife, Amber; Myra Delarosa and husband, Lorenzo; Joseph
Splawn; Jessica Montez; Lexie and Joseph Moeller, Gary and Victoria Splawn; Timmy, Sarah and Christina Machala; six great-grandchildren: Hayden
and Kason Splawn; Alyssa, Abigail and Anabella Delarosa; and Joseph Splawn, Jr.; special friend, Vicky Corrales; and numerous extended family and
friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane; stepfather, Leo Blaha; and four children: Debbie Ann Splawn, Paul
Splawn, Sr., Sandra Psencik and Marcus Splawn. Visitation was held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland
Funeral Home. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic
Church, 126 Plum Church Rd. in Plum, at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
