George Edgar Barrier Jr
George Edgar Barrier Jr., 67, of La Grange, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 in Austin. George was born in Vernal, Utah on April 25, 1948, the
son of George Barrier Sr. and Gretchen (Mann) Barrier. George was a caring and giving person. He gave of himself to everyone, even a stranger.
He enjoyed golf, softball, baseball, hockey, boating, water and snow skiing, barbecuing, and most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by lifetime partner, LaVonne Barrier; by daughter, Deneen Barrier of Palmetto, Fla.; three sons: Brad Barrier and wife, Kim, of New
Braunfels, Sonny Barrier of Smithville, and George Barrier III of La Grange; sister, Josephine Martin of Havre, Mont.; sister-inlaw and brother-in-law, Michelle
and John Gill; four grandchildren:Jordan Hoffer, Taylor Barrier, Max Humphrey and Chris Humphrey; two nephews: Todd Martin and Corby Martin; and
niece, Chere Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Don Allan Barrier. Memorial Services will be held at Koenig & Strickland
Funeral Home in La Grange at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
