Remember When?

Seven young Houston men and a dog set out on a six-day floating trip down the Colorado River to Matagorda Bay. Their 12x18-foot wooden raft was mounted on six 55-gallon oil drums for buoyancy. It had screened sleeping quarters, as well as everything else needed for the trip. The group’s mission was to promote a new recording hailing the space flight of Astronauts MacDivitt and White by playing it at every town along the river.
