Susan Battelle Cooper
Susan Battelle Cooper, 67, of College Station, died July 8, 2015 after a battle with cancer. She was born on April 3, 1948 to Ellen and William Battelle in Sydney, Ohio. A graduate of La Grange High School, Susan made her home in College Station for almost 45 years. Two of her sons graduated from Texas A&M so she was an avid Aggie fan. She also loved horses and loved telling stories about “Big Red.” Susan was always “the life of the party” and had a way of always making people laugh. She loved playing Mexican Train, bingo and Royal Rummy. Susan is survived by three sons and a sister: Jim Ogle of College Station, Jon Ogle and husband Bill Poindexter of Fort Worth; Martin Black and wife Katie Winter and children, Addison and Kai Winter-Black of College Station; and sister and brother-in-law Mary Ellen and Byron Zavesky of Katy. Preceding Susan in death are her husbands William Ogle, William Black and Larry Cooper, her parents, her sister, Carole Pavlicek, and grandparents, Ralph and Elva Martin. She leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will certainly be missed by all of her family and friends, who will always carry her memory in their hearts. A celebration of Susan’s life will be held in College Station on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Memorial Student Center room 2404 on Texas A&M campus. In lieu of flowers, Susan requested donations be made to Hospice Brazos Valley.
