Sybil R.G. Beaman, 91, longtime resident of Austin, died at Hospice Austin’s Christopher House Friday afternoon, Aug. 21, 2015. Sybil was born Sept. 19, 1923 in Ratcliff, Texas, the oldest child of Edmund and Leona Giese. She spent her childhood in La Grange and was a proud graduate of La Grange High School and the University of Texas. While at Texas, she met and married Warren M. Beaman II, the love of her life, and her husband of 71 years.  Sybil was a lifelong Texas Longhorn fan, devoted homemaker, and avid golfer. She was a long time member of the Austin Country Club Women’s Golf Association. Sybil was an active  participant in her church family at Tarrytown Methodist Church until her failing health made it no longer possible. She felt that travel was an adventure that would always brighten her life. Sybil loved her adopted home in the mountains of New Mexico. She embraced life to its fullest and was always willing to share her passions with her family and many friends. Sybil was preceded in death by her  parents, Edmund and Leona Giese. Sybil is survived by her sister Betty G. Breedlove of La  Grange; her brother Ed Giese and his wife, Debbie, of Colorado; her sister-in-law Elvia Beaman of Edinburg, Texas; daughter, June, and her husband, Michael Sidoric, of Austin; son,  Warren (Trey) M. Beaman III, and his wife, Lynn of Austin; granddaughter, Kate Morretta, and her husband, Matt of Austin; grandson Daniel Webb, and his  wife, Aubrey of Seattle, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank her devoted caregivers from  Nurses Case Management, her doctors and nurses, and the wonderful staff at Christopher House. A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug.  30, 2015 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Tarrytown Methodist Church, Hospice Austin’s ChristopherHouse, or a charity of your choice.  Obituary and memorial guestbook available online at www.wcfish.com.
