Geneva Sophia Josie (Brau) Maas, 84, of Round Top, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015. Geneva was born in Round Top on June 23, 1931, the daughter
of Arno and Sophie (Knutzen) Brau. She married Everett Maas on July 18, 1948 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. Geneva loved spending time
with her family and dancing. She grew up in Round Top. She was baptized on Oct. 4, 1931 and confirmed as a Lutheran on March
25, 1945, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She and Everett moved to Deer Park and began their life in the city. After 20 years as an
Insurance Office Manager and the church secretary at Sharon Lutheran Church in Pasadena, Geneva retired and they moved back to Round Top to enjoy the
country. She is survived by her husband, Everett Maas; daughter, Lindy McCrea and husband, Jim, of Houston; two sons: Roger
Glen Maas and wife, Jenny, of Houston and Steve Lynn Maas and wife, Eileen, of Pasadena; two brothers: Vernon Brau of Round Top and Delmus Brau of San Antonio; three grandchildren: Marc Andrew Maas, Carrie Melissa Maas and Madison Eileen Maas; special niece, Lila Ruth Garlin of
Round Top; and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Ollie, Kellie and Earl Arno Brau; and
sister, Amanda Busch. Visitation was held on Monday, Aug. 31, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, 208 W. Pearl St.
in La Grange. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. A private family burial will follow. Services were conducted by Pastor
Brad Otto from Messiah Lutheran Church in Cypress. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Round Top-Warrenton Volunteer
Fire Department, P.O. Box 145, Round Top, Texas 78954-0145 or a charity of one’s choice. Family and friends can view and sign the guestbook online at www.lagrangefunerals.com. Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
