Nolan Noak

Nolan Noak, 93, of Carmine, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in LaGrange. He was born Nov. 27, 1921
to Alfred and Freida (Schlabach) Noak in Round Top. He was baptized and confirmed in Lutheran faith and attended Round Top school. On Oct. 25,
1959 he married Vernell Tramp in Prairie Valley and they made their home in Carmine. Rarely did you find him sitting still. He believed in staying
busy and working hard and was employed with Jake’s Eggs/ Jacob’s Store for 50 years. He mowed yards until the age of 85 and was a former custodian
of Round Top Rifle Hall, Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Richter’s Cemetery. He was a member of the Round Top Sons of Hermann Lodge No. 151 and
recently received his 60 year membership pin. His recent years were spent at Monument Hill Nursing Center where he had many 
friends and enjoyed playing dominos and bingo. Nolan was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Neva Noak and one brother, Nelson
Noak. He is survived by his wife Vernell; son, Bruce and wife Paula Noak; daughter, Lanette and husband Bobby Williams, all of Carmine; grandchildren,
Robyn and Shannon Payne of Hitchcock, Candice Noak and special friend Brad Gorden of Houston and Emily Noak of Huntsville; sister, Nola
Goehring and sister-in-law, Verlene Noak, both of La Grange; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Nolan
Noak were held Saturday, Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. Burial followed at Richter’s Cemetery in Round Top.
Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 28 at 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Pallbearers were his nephews, Mike Huebel, Earl Neumann, Branch Neutzler, David Noak, Nelson Noak Jr and Wayne Noak, Randy Schneider.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top or Hospice Brazos Valley. Fayette Memorial Funeral
Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
