Anthony Joseph Sevcik
Anthony Joseph Sevcik, 51, beloved Dad, entered into eternal life on Aug. 31, 2015. Anthony was born on Sept. 14, 1963 in Galveston to Leon and Evelyn Sevcik. On Nov. 21, 1981 he married Darla J. Naumann at Sacred Heart Church in La Grange. Anthony was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. In the early 1980’s Anthony began a construction company in La Grange under the name J&A Construction which later became known as Sevcik Construction. He worked alongside many contractors in the construction industry in the Fayette County area for 30 plus years. Anthony enjoyed hunting, fishing the Colorado River, and vacations at the beach in his hometown Galveston. He spent long hours at deer camp with his daughters teaching them invaluable life lessons while enjoying all the things that nature has to offer. He enjoyed going out and having a good time. If you were one of the lucky ones, you have witnessed his one-of-a-kind Elvis dance moves. He loved to barbecue for friends and family, taking the boat out on the river and watching the waves crash on the Galveston Island Seawall. Anthony was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Darla Jean Naumann Sevcik, his parents, Leon and Evelyn Sevcik, his father-in-law Wesley H. Naumann, his brother Leon A. Sevcik, Jr., his nephew Leon A. “Bubba” Sevcik III, and his great nephew Alan M. Sevcik. He is survived by his his daughters Skye Sevcik of Austin, Dawn Sevcik and future son-inlaw Sergio Guerrero of Austin, and Tabitha Darden and son-inlaw Drew of Austin; one sister Laura Sevcik Amos of Santa Fe, one brother Hugo Sevcik and sister-in-law Sally Ann, one sisterin- law Mardell Sevcik of Bryan/ College Station. Visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 3 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in La Grange. A rosary and visitation will be held at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. “No Beauty Shines Brighter Than That of a GOOD HEART.” Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
