Joe C. Orsak
Joe C. Orsak, 84, of Weimar, died Aug. 29, 2015 in Katy. He was born on Aug. 17, 1931 to Joe J. and Mary (Becka) Orsak in Ellinger. On June 30, 1963, he married Verline Evelyn Brune. Joe served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He retired from TxDOT where he worked in the highway sign detail for approximately twenty years. Joe was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, American Legion Post 259 and V.F.W. Post 5875 in Weimar. He is survived by his wife, Verline Orsak of Weimar; sisterin- law, Geraldine Hoegemeyer of Weimar; and niece, Glenda Bartek of Weimar. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe J. Orsak and Mary (Becka) Orsak, brother, Glen Hoegemeyer, and great nephew, Justin Bartek. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Weimar with Monsignor John Bily officiating. Burial followed with military honors by the American Legion and V.F.W. of Weimar in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Weimar. Pallbearers were Larry Seydler, Rory Koehn, Hugo Richter, Lawrence Addicks, Maurice Kasper, and Edward Stover. Memorials are suggested to the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, 240 Svoboda Lane, La Grange, Texas 78945; or St. Michael’s Catholic Church or School, P.O. Box 36, Weimar, Texas 78962; or charity of your choice.
