William “Bill” Roy Briggs

William “Bill” Roy Briggs, 77, of Katy died Monday, Aug. 31, 2015. Bill was born in Live Oak on June 6, 1938, the son of Roy and Willie (Taylor) Briggs. He married Susan Bibby on Sept. 9, 1967 in Dallas.  Bill served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a Dispatcher for 45 years and retired in 2003. He is survived by his wife, Susan Briggs, of 47 years; daughter, Lisa Thomas-Morrison and husband, Josh, of Somerville; son, Billy Briggs and wife, Angel,  of Bastrop; daughter, Phyllis Briggs of West Virginia; son, Anthony Briggs of West Virginia; two sisters: Louise Law of Lipan; Lula Mae Tiner of San Antonio; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, 208 W. Pearl St. in La Grange, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015. Burial will follow at La Grange City Cemetery.
