Loyd Zwernemann, Beer Cap Folk Artist

For a guy who doesn’t drink beer, Loyd Zwernemann of Carmine sure has a lot of beer bottle caps ... thousands of them in hundreds of glass jars in his garage. Zwernemann, 87, has tremors in his hands, but still gets around. He and his wife Angeline live near the Carmine Y. In his working days, he owned Zwernemann Sand, Gravel and Hauling. His son Ronnie runs the firm now. Angeline was a cook at Winedale for 20 years. She’s retired too.
