Train Collides With Oil Tanker

Union Pacific train hit a crude oil tanker truck near Flatonia around 8:19 a.m. on Thursday, October 1. The wreck happened at the Nikel-Mica Road railroad crossing near the intersection of FM 154, between Flatonia and Muldoon. The accident resulted in no major injuries, although the train tracks and road crossing were closed for about seven hours while emergency workers cleared the wreckage.
