Alice B. (Hrachovy) Krenek

Alice B. (Hrachovy) Krenek, 98, of Columbus, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015. Alice was born in Ellinger on Oct. 13, 1916, the daughter of Joseph and Julia (Bordovsky) Hrachovy. She married Lad A. Krenek Sr. on June 25, 1946 in Fayetteville. Alice’s many hobbies included gardening, playing bingo, picking, grading and peeling pecans and a fond participant of Lotto scratch-off cards. She is survived by son, Lad A. Krenek, Jr. and wife, Janet, of Fayetteville; daughter, Kathy Rives of El Campo; two sisters: Beatrice Baron of Columbus and Bernadette Kovar of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren: Tammy Orange and husband, Scott; Brian Krenek and wife, Becky; Ashley Havel and husband, Colby; Jody Fuechec and wife, Sandra; Thomas Fucik; Glen Fucik; Tim Fucik and wife, Sarah; seven great grandchildren: Hannah and Brianna Orange; Chase and Avery Havel; Jared, Caitlyn and Zachary Fuechec. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lad A. Krenek, Sr., two sisters: Agnes Daniels and husband, Eddie and Henrietta Hrachovy; seven brothers: Frank Hrachovy and wife, Julie; Henry Hrachovy and wife, Mary; Emil Hrachovy and wife, Claudia; Jim Hrachovy and wife, Viola; Joseph, Laddie, and Edmund Hrachovy. Visitation  was held on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at St Mary’s Parish Hall in Ellinger. Family received friends from 5 to 7:30 p.m. A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015.
