Mardell Elise Dobbins- Smith, 47, of Spring, died Sept. 29, 2015 at Memorial Hermann. She was born Sept. 28, 1968 to Leroy Dobbins Sr. and Pearlie Mae (Carter) Dobbins. She married Rufus E. Smith on Aug. 19, 2001 in Conroe. She was employed as a manager at Wendy’s in Houston. She is survived by her husband Rufus E. Smith of Cypress, mother Peralie Mae (Carter) Dobbins of Houston, father Leroy Dobbins, Sr. of La Grange, daughters Ashley and Grace Smith of Cypress, son Jordan Smith of Cypress, stepdaughter Darlin Carl of Austin, sister Marchell Dobbins-Goff of Houston, brothers Leroy Jr. and wife Linda Dobbins of Houston and Lance Dobbins of Houston. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at the Church of Christ in La Grange with the Rev. Austin Jones officiating. Burial followed in the La Grange City Cemetery. Tommy E. Taylor Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
