Locals Help Fight Massive Smithville Fire

The Winchester and Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department assisted Bastrop County firefighters in battling the 4,200 acre Hidden Pines Fire near Smithville this week. Other Fayette County fire departments have offered assistance, but as of Thursday morning, Bastrop County officials have not taken up the offer.
