Seismograph Truck Sparks Brush Fire

A seismograph truck burned up and started a grass fire near Ledbetter Friday evening, Oct. 16. The fire started on property along Fisher Road. Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie of the Sheriff’s Office said the fire started with a hydraulic line on the truck busted and leaked oil onto a hot exhaust manifold. The oil ignited and burned up the truck. The fire spread to the dry pasture and woods surrounding the truck and eventually burned four and a half acres.
