Morris E. Albers’ Memories of WWII
A few months after my birth, the American Party, which had been big in Fayette County, was swept from office with the exception of the sheriff. After my dad had tried farming for a year, he went to work for the highway department and we went to live on 12 acres beside Hwy. 71. I was a member of the first class at Sacred Heart School and in high school I served as the FFA Chapter’s second president. As a senior, I was fortunate to be chosen as Best All Around Boy.
