Leroy (Buddy) Marion Lorenz
Leroy (Buddy) Marion Lorenz was born on Aug. 27, 1937 in Giddings to Robert Reinhold Lorenz and Clara (Hielscher) Lorenz. He was united in marriage to Shirley Ruth Mersiovsky on June 2, 1957 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings. Buddy died shortly after midnight on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, surrounded by his family at his home in Giddings, following a battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert (Bobby) Lorenz, Jr.; parents-inlaw, Harry and Margaret Mersiovsky and nephew, Jerry Robert Throckmorton. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Lorenz of Giddings; children Dr. Robert (Butch) Lorenz, D.V.M. and wife, Madonna of Arlington, and daughter Tammy and husband, Tim Hartfield of Giddings; grandchildren, Madonna Lynn and husband, Ron McClure, Magen and husband, John Hearn and Robert Harry Lorenz Jr., all of Arlington, Thomas and wife, Brittany Hartfield of College Station, and Robin Kate Hartfield of Giddings; great-grandsons, Nolan and Keaton Mc-Clure and Clark Thomas Hearn; sister Ethel and husband, Jimmy Throckmorton of Rockdale and brother-in-law, Charles Mersiovsky and wife, Margaret of Giddings. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
