Locals Worried About Future of Main St. Oak

It’s not an ancient tree, but it’s a nice old tree – the last big oak still standing in downtown Schulenburg. Now it faces an uncertain future. The City’s North Main Street sidewalk improvement project calls for some excavation in the vicinity of the tree, which stands at the corner of Wolters Avenue and North Main in front of Baumgarten-Matula Hardware Store.
