Lawrence Ray Blankenburg
Lawrence Ray Blankenburg, 78, of Plano (formerly of La Grange), died Friday, Dec. 25, 2015 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Carrollton. Lawrence was born in La Grange on Aug. 16, 1937, the son of Milton and Ruby (Pearson) Blankenburg. He married Junell Neumann in Rutersville in 1959. Lawrence served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed cars and playing with his dog, Duke. He is survived by son, David Blankenburg and partner, Oscar, of Pflugerville; two daughters: Lisa Lancaster and husband, Reagan, of Plano; Holly Behler and husband, Billy, of La Grange; brother, James Blankenburg and wife, Theresa, of La Grange; sister, Carolyn Redd of Georgetown; six grandchildren: Riley, Landon and Kellan Behler; Jaiden, Kyle and Addison Lancaster; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Junell (Neumann) Blankenburg. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 with Pastor Candis O’Meara officiating. Burial followed at La Grange City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence Blankenburg Scholarship Fund, 5209 Runnin’ River Drive, Plano, Texas 75093.
