Louise Milda (Lange) Hudspeth
Louise Milda (Lange) Hudspeth, 95, of Katy, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015 at Sunrise Senior Living in Katy. Louise was born in Oldenburg on Jan. 29, 1920, the daughter of Otto Lange and Katie Onken Lange. She married C. B. Hudspeth in 1945 on Nov. 2, and they celebrated 68 years of marriage before his death in 2013. She worked 27 years in Baytown at the U.S. Postal Service. She was very active in the Presbyterian Women group and worked tirelessly making the beautiful Chrismons for the church Christmas tree. Even in her last few years in La Grange, she was cooking and baking for the annual Christmas Tea as well as other lunches served in the church. She loved attending the Women’s retreats at Mo Ranch in the hill country. She served as church Treasurer and was often seen around the church cleaning and organizing cabinets and closets. She volunteered at Fayette Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for several years. Louise not only was a support to her family over the years, but she was also a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great- grandmother. Her beautiful spirit was one full of love and laughter. Louise touched the lives of everyone around her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by daughter, Sharon Marek and close friend, Toby Hill; son, Darrell Hudspeth and wife, Judy; grandsons: Dale Marek and wife, April; Derek Hudspeth and wife, Celena; great granddaughters: Harper and Hayes Hudspeth; brothers: Calvin Lange; Barnell Lange and wife, Betty; and Gilbert Lange and wife, Mildred. Louise was also blessed with an extended family for the last 19 years; granddaughter, Kimberly Adkins and husband, Norman; grandson, Richard Davis and wife, Amber; great grandsons: Tyler Webb and wife, Kelsea; Kayd and Colton Davis; great granddaughters: Harley Davis and Taylor Webb; great great granddaughter, Kaesleigh Webb; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends from Baytown and La Grange. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Katie Lange; loving husband, Claude B. Hudspeth; sisters: Edna Havemann, Norma Gerdes, Nola Seibert, Viola Marburger and brothers: Milton, Herbert, Kermit (Boobie), Wesley Lange. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian church of La Grange on Jan. 8, 2016, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr Jerry Hurst officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church building fund, P.O. Box 368, La Grange, Texas 78945; or a charity of your choice.
