Funeral services for Dorine Prellop, 92, of Warda, are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda with Rev. Dennis Tegtmeier officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation was held on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family was present for visitation Thursday evening from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Dorine Esther (Bamsch) Prellop was born on Sept. 26, 1923 in Warda to Henry and Ernestine (Zoch) Bamsch. She was baptized at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda on Oct. 7, 1923 by Pastor G. Buchschacher and was confirmed at Holy Cross by Rev. Paul Eifert on March 21, 1937. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 26:6-8, “I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O Lord: That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.” Dorine and Erwin Prellop were united in marriage on May 31, 1942 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda by Pastor Paul Eifert. Dorine and Erwin moved to Houston and joined Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. She retired from Prudential Insurance and Houston ISD. In 1984, Dorine and Erwin moved back to Warda where they enjoyed their retirement by raising cattle and fishing. She passed away the morning of Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at her home in Warda. Dorine was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-six years, Erwin Prellop; her parents, Henry and Ernestine Bamsch; brothers, Henry, Gustav, Walter, and Milton; sister, Elsa Mitschke and grandson, Kevin Aschenbeck. She is survived by daughters, Barbara and Bob Kelly of New York and Clarice and George Aschenbeck of Houston; sisters, Louise Proske of Houston and Hermina Melcher of Houston; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Alaska Missions for Christ, Camp Lone Star or the charity of one’s choice. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings is in charge of arrangements.
