Emil Louis Srubar
Emil Louis Srubar, 86, of Plum, died Friday, March 4, 2016. Emil was born in Plum on June 10, 1929, the son of Charles and Mary (Vecera) Srubar. He married Angeline Kopecky on Nov. 25, 1961 in Plum. Emil was in the Army Reserves. He worked for Texas Automatic Foods in Houston as a vending machine mechanic for 25 years. He then moved his family to Plum in 1985. He was a 3rd degree knight of the Knights of Columbus No. 2574 and a member of KJT No. 23. He enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. Emil was always available to help family and friends doing any type of repair work. He loved bowling and baseball. He is survived by his wife, Angeline, of 54 years; three daughters: Loretta Denham and husband, Ron; Brenda Ward; Connie Beseda and husband, Wayne; son, Charles Srubar and wife, Amy, all of Plum; brother, Paul Srubar and wife, Mary, of Muldoon; two sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Srubar of West Point and Betty Blaha of Angelton; brother-in-law, Frankie Kopecky and wife, Lorene, of La Grange; seventeen grandchildren: Kristen Denham and wife, Tiffany; Ross Denham and wife, Christa; Garrett Denham and wife, Kimberlee; Brittni, Dalton and Briley Ward; Bryson Beseda and wife, Courtney; Weston Beseda and wife, Ashley; Brandon and Brenna Beseda; Courtney, Sierra, Zachery, Avery, and Aryn Srubar; nine great grandchildren: Remington Denham; Alexa Zapata; Cambree, Raelee and Ace Denham; Kaylyn, Raelynn, Canaan and Caston Beseda; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by parents; two brothers: Frank and August Srubar; four sisters: Mary Prihoda, Martha Harper, Edith Prihoda and Sister Marcella Srubar; and son-in-law, Paul Ward. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 126 Plum Church Rd. in Plum at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Burial will follow at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
