Charles Wayne Chamrad, 68, of La Grange, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at University Hospital in San Antonio. Charles was born in Schulenburg on Aug. 5, 1947, the son of Joe and Wilma (Berger) Chamrad. Charles attended St. Michael’s Grade School in Weimar for eight years and then he attended Bishop Forest High School in Schulenburg and graduated in 1965. Charles was united in marriage to Marian Hrachovy on April 26, 1969, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn. Charles served in the US Army/National Guard. He owned and operated Chamrad’s Paint and Body Shop. Charles was a member of theKJT and the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Charles enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and barbequing. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and going to Port O’Connor. He was always willing to help others in need. Charles loved spending time playing with his granddaughter, Addisyn. He will be missed by all and his beloved dog, Sally Joe. Charles is survived by his wife, Marian, of 47 years; daughter, Amy Greive and husband, Charles, of Moulton; sister, Jo Ann Chavoya and husband, Bob, of Las Cruces, N.M.; two brothers: Ronnie Chamrad and wife, Kathy, and Gary Chamrad and friend, Gladys Hermes, of Weimar; sister-in-law, Verlene Kuntschik of Hostyn; and brother- in-law, David Hrachovy and wife, Lucy, of Houston; granddaughter, Addisyn Greive; stepgrandson, Henry Greive; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; father-inlaw and mother-in-law, Jerome and Martha Hrachovy and brother-in-law, Henry Kuntschik. Visitation was held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 9 to 9:40 a.m. at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn. The Chaplet of The Divine Mercy was recited at 9:40 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 10 a.m. The Chamrad family received friends immediately following the service in the Parish Hall at the church for a time of sharing and remembrance. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 936 FM 2436, La Grange, Texas 78945.
