Old Wives’ Tales

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Step on a crack, break your Mother’s back. Old wives’ tales are nothing but a superstition or traditional belief that is regarded as unscientific or incorrect. At a recent party, a gentleman asked some friends of ours if they ever heard of the old wives’ tale concerning thunder and lightning in December. It was finally settled that if it there is thunder and lightning in January, it will freeze in April. That old wives’ tale has been around for years.
