Ludmila Coufal
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ludmila “Lillie” Coufal, 90, of Snook, was held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in El Campo. Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery. She died on April 2, 2016 in Caldwell. Lillie was born March 3, 1926 to Anton and Francis Vitek in Fayetteville. She was a devout Catholic. Lillie spent much of her life as a homemaker. She loved canning, baking, sewing, and crocheting. She also worked for 20 plus years at A&M in the food services division. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Jerome Zalman and Clarence Coufal; six brothers, one sister, and one step-daughter, Maxine Ellegde. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and James Richardson of Caldwell; step-sons Glenn Coufal of Fayetteville, Donald Coufal and wife Keely of Pearland, Dennis Coufal and wife Carol of Deer Park, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Vitek of Houston, and Agnes Zamazal of El Campo. Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell was in charge of arrangements.
