Plug Pulled on Brasher-Gunn Deal

By ANDY BEHLEN Brasher Motor Company of Weimar announced this week they are not buying Brasher-Gunn, Inc. from their cousins in La Grange, despite earlier reports. Owner Tommy Brasher of Brasher Motor Company in Weimar declined to comment further on the failed acquisition.

When the Record spoke with Brasher on April 8, he said his company had agreed to purchase Brasher-Gunn from the Gunn family of La Grange and was waiting on formal approval from General Motors. That deal apparently fell through, as attested by a half-page ad taken out in today’s paper on Page A5. Seth Gunn, son of Brasher-Gunn owner Henry Gunn, also declined to comment other than saying that there has been interest from another potential buyer. A call to Henry Gunn was not returned in time for this publication.
