Ira Mae Hinze, 89, of Round Top, died May 15, 2016 in Hallettsville. She was born on March 19, 1927 in Round Top to Waldemar Noak and Etta Oetken Noak. She married Eldor Hinze on Nov. 28, 1946. She was a housewife, a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top, Hermann Sons and Round Top-Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department. She loved gardening, canning, working with her flowers, enjoyed cooking for family and family outings. She got strength from daily devotions, loved to dance and love polka time. She is survived by one son; Ronnie Lynn Hinze and wife Maggie of Round Top; one daughter, Verna Meinkowsky and husband Larry of Hallettsville; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Hinze of Carmine; seven grandchildren, Whitney Hinze, Shawn Meinkowsky, Brannon Meinkowsky and wife Jamie, Jared Meinkowsky and wife Brooke, Ryan Hinze and wife Leslie, Kevin Hinze and wife Kimberly, Lauren O’Malley and husband Jackson and fourteen great-grandchildren; five sisters, Henrietta Leonhardt and husband Alwood of Rosenberg, Martha Leonhardt and husband Robert of Houston, Vernell Mertz and husband Elo of Brenham, Dorothy Mae Spies of Bryan and Marcella Noak of Spring. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Elvis Ray Hinze; brothers, Waldemar Noak, Jr. And Merton Noak and great-grandson, Bryson Ray Hinze. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family received visitors from 5 until 7 p.m. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. Interment followed in Hills Cemetery near Round Top. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top or the Round Top-Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department. Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangments.
