The La Grange Independent School District called for bids on the new $300,000 auditorium that had been in the planning stages for almost a year. A single story, 92x154-foot structure to be constructed east of the high school, the building was to provide a permanent auditorium with opera-type seats for approximately 1,000, plus band practice rooms and girls’ physical education facilities.
