Diane (Howard) Macaulay

Diane (Howard) Macaulay, 62, of La Grange, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 28, 2016 surrounded by her family. Diane was born in Walters, Okla. on Jan. 9, 1954, the daughter of John “J.D.” Howard and Florence (Bridgers) Yoakum. She was employed by LCRA as a liaison between LCRA and the City of Austin, retiring in January 2011 after 34 years of service. Diane was a member of Friends in Faith and the bell choir at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. She volunteered at Second Chance and Relay for Life. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing 42 dominoes, traveling, and most of all, her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Frank; daughter, Jamie (Schmidt) Budnick and husband, Greg, of Kingwood; mother, Florence “Flo” Yoakum, of La Grange; two stepsons: William Macaulay and wife, Lauren, of Boston, Mass.; and Robert Macaulay of Houston; stepdaughter, Amy Macaulay of Houston; sister, Vicky Jordan and husband, Harry, of Milano; four grandchildren: Nolan Budnick, Myles Budnick, Noah Corso, and Della Macaulay; father of her daughter, Kenneth Schmidt, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and infant daughter, Holly Marie Schmidt. A Celebration of Life was held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Grange at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016.
