Our beloved Annie Dorothy Pavlicek Marburger, loving wife of Alois Marburger, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 5, 2016. Annie was born in the house she grew up in near Frelsburg. She was the daughter of Benedict and Annie Zebranek Pavlicek. She had four siblings, one brother and three sisters. She was the youngest, with her brother Sylvester, being the oldest. He was already in the Army when Annie was born. Annie graduated from St. John Catholic School in Fayetteville as the salutatorian of her class. She met Alois through friends. They married two years later on June 14, 1954, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Frelsberg. Alois, being in the Air Force as his career, meant that for the next 22 years they traveled throughout the United States and with two different tours in Germany, moving and packing up every three years. She handled it dignity and grace. Annie was an LVN and practiced nursing at various Air Force Bases. Finally in 1974, they retired and made Austin their home for the next 42 years. When the family returned to Austin, Annie worked at the Veterans Administration in the accounting department until she retired in 1995. During her retirement Annie was content making pickles, canning jams, or helping Alois process deer, especially making deer sausage. She also loved to shop with her daughters, eat out with family, or travel until her health declined. Annie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Sylvester; and her sisters, Judith and Vlasta. Annie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Alois; daughter, Debbie Bailey and husband Richard; daughter Yvonne Marburger; and son, Edward Marburger. Her grandchildren include, Christopher Doremus, Ryan Lovejoy, Amanda and Allison Bailey, Megan Moore, and Sarita Marburger, and one great-grandchild, Hailey Doremus. Annie is survived by one sister, Lillie Abbitt of Oklahoma City, Okla; and sisters-in-law, Albina Pavlicek, (Elvie) Jean Weber, and Marceil Prestridge. The family would like to thank the staff at Austin Seton Hospital for their care and support while Annie was in their care. They would also like to thank the Caring Senior Service for their unconditional and loving support, as well as Hospice Austin for their kindness and words of encouragement during this difficult time. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed, but the family knows she is at rest with our Heavanly Father. A visitation for family and friends was held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the funeral home chapel. She was laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
