Jerome F. Legler

Jerome F. Legler, 86, of La Grange, died Monday, June 6, 2016 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange. Jerome was born on June 18, 1929 to Rudolph Legler and Filomena (Vasek) Bell in Halstead. He served in the US Army as a Sergeant during the Korean War. He was employed as a plumber at Legler Plumbing Company in La Grange. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clarence and Lawrence Legler. He is survived by daughters, Catherine Purifoy and husband Tommy of La Grange, and Christine Weyand of Houston; son, James E. Legler of La Grange, sister-in-law, Alice Legler of Austin; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 10, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Tommy E. Taylor Funeral Home in La Grange with the Rev. Grace Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Flordia Chapel Cemetery in Round Top. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to James F. Legler to cover medical expenes. Tommy E. Taylor Funeral Home in La Grange is in charge of arrangements.
