Victor Otis Symm

Victor Otis Symm, 93, of Serbin, died the morning of Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in Giddings. Victor was born on Aug. 18, 1922 in Giddings, the son of John Ernst Symm and Mary Lydia (Kappler) Symm and was united in marriage to Gladys Irene Oltmann on June 20, 1944. Victor is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years, Gladys Symm of Serbin; four children, Harvey Symm and his wife, Josie of Round Rock, Karen Symm of Hayden, Idaho, Michael Symm and his wife, Barbara of Serbin and Rev. David Symm and his wife, Tina of Lariat; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Grace Hataway of North Point, Ala.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Victor Symm, 93, of Serbin, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Restoration Fund or the Lutheran Hour. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings is in charge of arrangements.
