More Details Released Relating to Infant Death

Last Friday we had a story relating to an infant death that occured July 4 outside La Grange. 

Here’s the most recent press release from the Sheriff’s Department concerning that incident: 

“On 7-4-2016 shortly before lunch the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a 911 call from a female reporting her seven-month infant had slipped in a tub and drowned.  It was reported the baby was being transported by private vehicle to St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange.  The individuals which were taking the baby to the hospital were stopped for speeding by Texas Department of Public safety Trooper Robert Gulash.  Trooper Gulash performed CPR on the baby and requested Fayette County EMS to respond.  

The infant was transported to St. Mark’s Medical Center but was unable to be revived.  An autopsy was ordered by Justice of Peace Pct. #2 Shelia Coufal.  This case is currently under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Ranger Brent Barina.”
