DNA Test Positively ID’s Parents in Infant Case

By JEFF WICK  La Grange Police Chief Jackie Skelton announced Monday that DNA evidence has finally been returned and IDs have been made in the case of an infant skull which was found here in Jan. 2015.

“We know all the parties,” Skelton said. “We know the mother, we know the father.”

Both are from La Grange. Skelton added that several circumstances surrounding the case make it difficult for him to release some information about the investigation, and what charges the primary suspect will face.

“The perpetrator is tied in with another case. Additional information is pending,” Skelton said.

“The mother of the child is a victim of a criminal act as well,” Skelton said. “If criminal charges are deemed necessary (against the mother) that will be determined later.”

DNA evidence did not determine whether the child was alive or dead when the body was disposed of. The investigation started when a landscaping crew discovered the skull Jan. 25, 2015 on an empty lot on North Jefferson St. in La Grange.
