July 15-19, 1966 An amnesia victim spent a day in custody while the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department attempted to establish his identity. A Bluff-area farmer, who had discovered the stranger sleeping in his hay barn on Monday morning, called the sheriff. Because the man could not recall who he was, where he’d been or where he was going, the sheriff rushed his fingerprints to the Department of Public Safety in Austin via private auto.
