Vinklarek Named La Grange Softball Coach
Sharon Vinklarek, who as a head coach of the Lady Leps, led the La Grange softball team to a state tournament appearance in 2000 and the state title in 2005, was hired at Monday night's LGISD school board meeting to return as head coach of the program.
Vinklarek, a La Grange-native, has continued working as teacher at La Grange ISD even after she stepped aside from coaching after that 2005 state title.
She takes over for Art Behrend, who earlier this month resigned after winning the state title this season. Behrend said he has been offered the head softball coaching job at Giddings.
