Dove Season Just Around the Corner

By ANDY BEHLEN In just two weeks, little grey birds will begin falling from the sky onto barbecue pits and into stew pots as dove season arrives in Fayette County.

In the central zone, which lies north of Interstate 10, the season runs Sept. 1 to Nov. 6 and Dec. 17 to Jan. 8. The season in the south zone runs Sept. 23 to Nov. 13 and Dec. 17 to Jan. 23.

That makes for 20 more hunting days than last year, with extra the extra days split between the early and late seasons.
