Oct. 25-28, 1966 The 1964 U.S. Census of Agriculture showed Fayette County had 2,873 farms versus 3,271 farms reported in 1959. In 1964, the average farm had 188.8 acres and had land and buildings valued at $32,259. The value of all crops sold by county farms in 1964 was $2,901,008 versus $3,226,784 in 1959. The value of all livestock and livestock products sold by county farms in 1964 was $10,727,970 versus $11,108,127 in 1959. The Brenham Cubs made a touchdown in the final minute of the third quarter to become the first team to score on the Leopards in five games.
